Native American flutes and totems

Cedar Spirit Native American flutes are handcrafted with care and loving attention, in the tradition of the Plains Indian "Love Flutes", completed with one-of-a-kind hand-carved three-dimensional totems completed to your specifications.

These double-chambered flutes were traditionally played by the Plains Indians. The flute was used by men to court the women they loved, and for this reason it has also been given the beautiful name of the "Love Flute".  These flutes are now played and appreciated by both men and women.  Read more about the history of Love Flutes on the website.

Whether you are a beginner or a practiced flute player, you can play a Native American flute.  Novices will find that within a few minutes they are producing beautiful music.  Why?  Because the Native American flute has no "embouchure" like a metal flute, and no reed like a woodwind instrument.  So with a gentle, straight blow, YOU can get a beautiful tone, right away.
